Hurtigruten is the winner of the Globe Travel Awards "Best Specialist Cruise Company" 2012. Their ships are amongst the most important means of transportation along Norway’s twisting, rugged coastline for locals and visitors alike. This unique voyage carries passengers and supplies to over 30 ports with a ship departing from Bergen virtually every day of the year. The Hurtigruten ships travel north across the Arctic Circle and beyond as they weave in and out of narrow inlets and fjords, sailing along some of the world's most beautiful coastline, nearly always in sight of land. Ports visited by night on the northbound voyage are seen by day on the southbound journey and there are a variety of shore-based excursions on offer.
Sail in Summer during the period of the Midnight Sun, when the sun flirts with the horizon before curving skyward, bathing the glorious scenery in perpetual daylight.
Winter voyages provide the possibility of witnessing one of Nature's lavish displays - the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights as they are more commonly known, dancing in the Arctic twilight. There are also shorter Northern Lights voyages available.
Life on board is relaxed and casual. Project Travel selects the newer ships for its packages so depending on the vessel you will enjoy excellent facilities including Jacuzzis, library, restaurants, lecture theatre or gym. All Hurtigruten cruise ships feature a Panoramic Lounge where you can view the amazing scenery going by.
