Testimonial - Mrs EP, Dublin:

"Norway was wonderful. We had an amazing time. The dog sledding, the snow mobile (we did it day and night )
and the ice hotel were excellent, so exciting! And the people were so lovely and so interesting. Oh, and we saw
some of the Northern Lights ... which was beautiful! Thanks a lot for it. It was highly enjoyable!"

Tromsø's Northern Lights Activity Package

Tromsø is the capital of Norway's high north. You'll be amazed by the active cultural life, the busy city centre, its fun nightlife and social, well educated people of this vibrant, coastal city. Between 21 November and 21 January the sun disappears under the horizon and Tromso experiences the Polar Nights. Contrary to popular belief, they are not completely dark. In Tromsø the twilight is longer than in most places and this combined with snow gives the sky incredible colours when the weather is favourable. Tromso can get a lot of snow but it often takes time before it settles. January to April are the best snow months and provide the best opportunities to enjoy winter snow activities. Project Travel's 4 night Tromsø Package combines excellent opportunities to view the Aurora Borealis with one scheduled activity each day of your stay: a Northern Lights dinner cruise which stays in protected waters close to land, Dog Sledding Under the Northern Lights, plus a unique opportunity to "Visit My Home in Lyngen". This tour includes lunch and transfers as you spend the day with a local English-speaking family in their home in the Lyngen Alps approximately 90 minutes drive from Tromsø.

2013 Cost: 4 nights from €1385 (plus air taxes)per person sharing, includes 3 excursions.
2012/13 Departures: Sundays, November 2012 - March 2013
(Alternative departure days available - changes to the cost will apply. Tours subject to snow availability)
Suitable for: singles, two or more people, groups.

Arctic Adventure Holiday - includes Snowmobiling!

Want to try a different type of holiday? Project Travel has a range of Arctic Adventures in this winter holiday in northern Norway, ideal for those who love wild and unspoilt places and adventure - and for those who want to try and see the Northern Lights. Suitable for lovers of outdoor activities, for people with even a basic level of fitness who are looking for something special. Each holiday package is tailor-made and is suitable as a singles holiday or for two or more people. Stay in comfortable 3* hotel accommodation and enjoy day tours including tourist attractions and outdoor activities.

If it is the Northern Lights you're after, Project Travel does not believe you should just catch a cheap flight to a town above the Arctic Circle and hang around hoping for the Lights to show. We include 4 fantastic Arctic activities in this 4 night Arctic Adventure package so you will not be bored and you will bring home some wonderful memories even if you don't happen to see the Lights. But to maximise your chances of spotting them we include a specialist tour with a dedicated Northern Lights hunter. We have chosen outdoor adventures which are high on fun but easy on the skills required, e.g. sled dogs and snowmobiling.

2013 Cost: 4 nights from €1875 (plus air taxes) per person sharing, includes 4 Arctic activiites.
2013 Departures: January - March.
(December 2012 packages available on request, activities subject to availability).
Suitable for: singles, two or more people.

WHAT TO WEAR IN ARCTIC NORWAY

Without a doubt it's cold above the Arctic Circle in winter.
But you don't need to invest in expensive specialist clothing.
Chances are you already have most of what you need in your wardrobe. The trick is to dress in several warm layers.
Check out this useful Arctic clothing guide for more information.
