BermudaEverything about Bermuda sounds like a cliché, but it really is all as wonderful as it sounds, if not more so! The people are friendly and welcoming, the waters are warm with more amazing shades of blue and turquoise than you've ever seen. And the sands on the divine beaches really are pink! The hotels and resorts are second to none, it is a golfer's paradise, while the food, particularly the sea food, is amazing. It also has the advantage of being one of the most romantic places on earth, making it an idyllic island honeymoon destination from Ireland. |

Credit: Project Travel Spend your days lounging by the pool or explore the 22 mile long island by taxi or scooter. With no billboards and no neon lighting, every view is a postcard and you will be swept away by the island's beauty from the moment you land. Activities on offer include some wonderful golf courses, horse riding, swimming with dolphins, visiting the glittering 'Crystal Caves', and of course, great fishing, snorkelling and other water sports. Despite many people believing Bermuda is part of the Caribbean, it is actually located hundreds of miles north in an astoudingly beautiful section of the Atlantic, just 650 miles east of North Carolina. The island is an overseas territory of the UK so there are daily flights from London to Bermuda between May and October, with four flights per week the rest of the year. With flight time of only around 6 hours access from Ireland is a cinch. It's also a great luxury cruise destination allowing visitors to experience the full diversity of this historic, unique island. The best weather is experienced between May and mid-October when temperatures range between 23°C and 29°C. During the winter months it averages a balmy 21°C making it a great winter sun holiday alternative to the Canary Islands. Since the island's only supply of fresh water is from rainfall, the occasional rainstorm which can occur at any time of year, is welcomed by the locals. Hurricanes do occasionally visit but very rarely and unlike the Caribbean there is no rainy or hurricane season. Reassuringly, hotels that are members of the Bermuda Hotels Association offer a "Hurricane Guarantee"* allowing you to cancel your hotel reservation if one is forecast before your departure, or offering free meals and accommodation during the event if you are already on the island. (*Terms and conditions apply. Click here to download a copy of the Hurricane Guarantee for details). Project Travel is the expert on holidays and honeymoons in Bermuda from Ireland.
